The serial number dates to 1865. The receiver and buttplate tang are decorated with a highly attractive factory pattern engraving featuring large scrollwork on a profuse punch dot background. A large flower petal motif is featured on the forward panel on the left and right sides of the receiver. The left sideplate has a dog vignette. See R.L.
