Memorabilia of John Henry "Fitz" Fitzgerald, Colt Ballistics Expert and Noted Author

Active with Colt from 1918-1944, John Henry Fitzgerald, aka "Fitz" was an arms tester, published author, expert witness and one of Colt's top pitch men. Additionally, he would be the originator of the "FitzGerald Special" style revolver. This lot includes: 1) 8"X10" photo of J.H. Fitzgerald with arms crossed and a double holster rig. 2) 9 1/2"X12" photo of Capt. A.H. Hardy and J.H. Fitzgerald. 3) Signed letter from Capt. A.H. Hardy to J.H. Fitzgerald 4) 1913 photo of J.H. Fitzgerald shooting an Indian head for Cowboys. It could be Topperwein. 5) Colt Fitz luck target. 6) J.H. Fitzgerald's copy of Tex & Patches Frank E. Schoonover Letter. 7) J.H. Fitzgerald's Original 1917 Championship Medal from the Boston Rifle & Revolver Club. 8) Photo of Mildred C. Harker of Annapolis, Maryland from 1930 with a pistol at age 14; expert with rifle, revolver and pistol, and daughter of Major H.L. Harker, Chief Range Officer of Camp Perry, Ohio. As Colt's Ambassador, John H. Fitzgerald frequently spent time in the Colt tent at Camp Perry during the National Matches.
