Manufactured 1882, left of lower tang marked "X 1473", "1473" repeated in the stock inlet and inside the buttplate (faint). Included factory letter lists the rifle in .45-60 caliber with a 24 inch octagon barrel, set trigger, casehardened finish, and a checkered pistol grip stock when received at the warehouse on 20 April 1882 and shipped on 29 April 1882.
