Description:

Manufactured in the dying days of the Third Reich, the MP3008 was part of the "Volks" series of weapons, a selection of small arms developed for maximum speed and cost efficiency in manufacture. Aside from the magazine well being positioned vertically like the MP38 and MP40 and configured for compatibility with standard German SMG magazines, the MP3008 is effectively a down and dirty clone of the British STEN gun, right down to the push button selector switch on the frame. This was a very sensible choice, as the STEN gun was the gold standard for a down and dirty, fighting man's sub-machine gun, devoid of bells and whistles and designed with an eye for speed. Fixed triangle front sight, a notch rear sight, sling mounts on the magazine well and stock, squared trigger guard and a tube steel buttstock. Aside from the "D" and "E" selector markings, "03" on the tube and trigger cover, and "6011/bob" on the bolt, the weapon is unmarked. Included with the lot is a "clg 43" marked dual pouch magazine carrier set, tan cloth construction with black leather fittings, with five extra magazines and a loading tool.

Rating Definition:

Fine as professionally restored, with heavy pitting concentrated on the stock, grind marks on the tube, and handling marks overall. The pouches show mild wear and staining. Mechanically fine, magazine catch engages intermittently. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
