Holland & Holland build some of the finest guns in the world and have done so for nearly 190 years, with this gun being a fine example of their outstanding craftsmanship. The gun is built with blued steel chopperlump barrels featuring a single nickel bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib which has a flourish of scroll at the breech, "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" and "33. BRUTON STREET, LONDON." marked on the right and left respectively, chambers marked 2 3/4 inches with automatic ejectors, import mark under forend, and 1986 dated London nitro proofs. The brush bright finished assisted-opening hand detachable sidelock action displays exceptional broad leafy floral scrollwork surrounding "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" and "LONDON-ENGLAND" on either side as well as on the underside. The action features both bright polished and niter blued pins, gold center-line cocking indicators, manual tang mounted safety switch with gold inlaid "SAFE", a single non-selective trigger, and beautifully engraved right hand rolled triggerguard with extended tang and gold inlaid serial number. The wood is beautifully figured and consists of a multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings including the Anson button style release and a straight grip stock with teardrop flats, a blank inscription oval, and a checkered bare butt. Included is an oak & red leather takedown case with H&H retailer label inside, cleaning tools, and a set of nickel snap caps.
