Thomas Ketland Sr. was as successful Birmingham gunmaker and sold firearms and other products from 1760 until his death in 1816. T. Ketland & Co. carried on until bankruptcy in 1821. The barrel has a bayonet stud/blade front sight and ordnance proofs. The lock has the Georgian cipher at center and "T/KETLAND/& Co." at the tail, and the inside is marked "B&S" (Blair & Sutherland). There is a small, unclear stamp on the rear of the left stock flat. Includes an iron button head ramrod.
