Manufactured in the late 18th century. The octagonal to round two stage cannon style barrel is smoothbore and is decorated with engraving with a foliate chiseled girdle with gilt backgrounds at the transition, gold inlaid foliate scrollwork inhabited by birds on the breech section, a sunken gold lined "crown/FRo/DOIZ/TUA" maker's mark (possibly relating to or for a relative of Antonio Doiztua, master examiner at Plasencia), a fleur-de-lis pattern gold inlaid band ahead of the bright foliate and border engraved standing breech, and a gold vent. The bright, flat lock plate has border engraving, and the lock components are finely chiseled. The priming pan is gold lined. The silver mounts includes foliate, martial trophy, and border designs. A belt hook is fitted to the left. The stock features attractive molding, raised relief floral carving, and a raised relief crown over crossed cannons and other martial trophies at the wrist.
