Description:

Manufactured in 1977 and built with a blued Acciato Special steel barrel with white front and steel mid bead sights on the step-up matted vent rib, 2 3/4 inch chamber with ejector, and interchangeable chokes (11 installed). The barrel is mated to a coin action displaying magnificent flowing relief scroll engraving with leafy motifs on a matted background which extends onto the top lever and triggerguard. Fitted with a single trigger and tang mounted safety. The shotgun is mounted in a magnificently contrasted multipoint checkered walnut beavertail forearm with engraved fittings and pistol grip Monte Carlo stock with ventilated Perazzi recoil pad. Includes a takedown case containing a choke tool and two extra chokes (7 and 9). Also included is correspondence between Mauro Perazzi, Perazzi founder Danielle Perazzi's son, and John V. Moynes, the then President of Ithaca Gun Company. The letter from Perazzi infers that the initial reason for the letter was to find out who the engravers were who embellished his Perazzi shotguns. The letter in return from Mauro states that this shotgun was engraved by Italian engraver Fausto Galeazzi. The return letter from Moyne questions the information from Perazzi, but goes on to offer importing Perazzi shotguns for the firm after their deal with Winchester was discontinued. He concludes his letter by asking Mauro to confirm the information on the engraving and stating what a pleasure it is to own such a fine shotgun as Perazzis are. Barrel and stock measurements: bore measured nine inches from the breech .731 inches; minimum wall thickness .055 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at the comb; 1 7/16 inch drop at the heel of the Monte Carlo cheekpiece; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 4 oz. Provenance: President of Ithaca Gun Co. John V. Moynes

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue and coin finishes with limited handling marks and crisp engraving and forearm and stock checkering. The safety needs some work; otherwise mechanically excellent. Case is very fine.
