Manufactured in 1855. Backstrap is inscribed " Capt. J.S. Richardson 12th Regt". An included letter from The National Army Museum in London states that a John S. Richardson served in the 12th regiment from November 1855 through September in 1894. With wooden case containing a patriotic themed powder flask, dual cavity bullet mold, and lead balls.

Good overall with an "antiqued" brown patina, scattered pitting, and scattered wear. Mechanically fine. Case is good with scattered wear.
