Serial Number 11 Allen & Thurber Dragoon Size Percussion Pepperbox with Original Case

Six shot barrel cluster with the left side of the hammer marked "ALLEN & THURBER/GRAFTON MASS" and the top of the hammer is marked "ALLEN'S PATENT". The frame has a typical open scroll engraving. The grips with silver oval inlays and trigger guard are numbered to the gun. The partitioned case is lined in brown velvet. The following accessories are included: UMC cap tin with caps, key, two cavity bullet mold, ramrod and unmarked powder flask.

ConditionGood. The barrel shows a period silver finish toning dark with age. The frame shows a similar period silver finish with traces of the engraving remaining. The grips are fine with varnish loss and a few minor handling marks. Action needs work as barrel cluster is out of sync. The rare and original case is good with a number of minor handling marks, a long hairline crack on the lid, loose partition walls and worn lining.
