The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address and 1884 patent date ahead of the rear sight, and the Winchester oval proof followed by "25-20 W.C.F." at the breech. The Winchester oval proof is also marked on top of the receiver at the breech. Three line model/maker/trade mark marking on the upper tang and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. Full length magazine tube, blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever, and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate.
