The top barrel flat is marked with the two-line address/1894 patent date in front of the rear sight, "-NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" is marked behind the rear sight on the left barrel flat with "30 W.C.F." at the breech, and the Winchester oval proof on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The lower tang by the trigger is roughly stamped "697" in a diamond, and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. It features blade front sight, rear two leaf folding notch sight, rear adjustable Lyman peep sight, a full length magazine, and is mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with metal forend cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.
