Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle in 45-90 Caliber

Manufactured in 1888. Equipped with a blade front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight and full length magazine. The top barrel flat has the two line address marking and "45-90 WCF" and the upper tang is marked "-MODEL 1886." The serial number along with the two line patent dates marking appears on the lower tang. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The left side of receiver is lightly scratched "Jas.L Griffith" above "J.L. Griffith", possibly a previous owner.

ConditionVery good. Overall the rifle has a smooth dark patina with traces of original blue finish in the protected areas. "JAS L Griffith" is hand inscribed on the receiver twice. There is a noticeable ding visible on right side of barrel at breech. The wood is also very good with a couple minor gouges and numerous handling marks. Mechanically fine.
