Manufactured between 1963 and 1983, the MPL (Maschinenpistole Lang) was one of the go-to German police and naval weapons of the Cold War, and was reportedly among the equipment issued to Delta Force for Operation Eagle Claw. Operating on straight blowback principles, the MP's bolt extends partially over the barrel, allowing for an overall reduction in size compared to the blowback automatics of World War II. Blade front and adjustable peep rear sights with a set of integral fixed battle sights on top of both ribbed and ventilated handguard, importer mark "GERMANY INTER AMERICAN SACTO.CA" on the barrel, "65(antler)" Ulm date code, non-reciprocating cocking knob on the left side, ambidextrous magazine catch and "S D E" (safe, full-auto, semi-auto) selector switch, ribbed grips, 32-round magazine and a side-folding stock.
