This is an unusual and rare offering of five high condition Winchester Model 1895 carbines accompanied by a period Winchester shipping crate. Each carbine is chambered in .30 Army and has a pinned blade front sight, ladder rear sight graduated from 10 to 18 with a base graduated to 10 ("E" has a different type of rear sight), saddle ring mounted on the left side of the receiver, standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on top of the receiver and nicely figured straight grain walnut handguard, finger groove forearm and straight grip stock. Gun "A" was manufactured in 1921, has a bore pull through contained in the buttplate compartment and retains the original period hanging tag numbered to gun. All five guns fit in a period correct Winchester crate specifically marked for Model 1895 .30 Army carbines chambered in .30 Army. The crate was originally intended to ship 10 guns, which leaves five more guns to find to complete this set! Four casters have been added to the bottom of the crate, and the original wooden top has been replaced with a piece of glass for display purposes. Four period Winchester "General Instructions" booklets are also included.
