John Blissett (1808-1872) was the son of Isaac Blissett who was a gun dealer, maker, as well as a jeweler and perfumer. John is listed as an independent gunmaker and jeweler as early as 1832 and was active until his death in 1872. The iron lock is signed "JOHN BLISSETT/HIGH HOLBORN/LONDON." The pistol has extensive scroll, martial, and twist motif engraving on the unusual German silver stock and barrel. A vent pick is threaded into the butt, and the pistol is fitted with a belt hook.

Fine with mostly bright surfaces, crisp engraving and markings, minor aging, and small marks and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
