Knives of this style were very popular trade items among Native American tribes in the late-1700s to early-1800s. Measures 15 inches overall with a 8 inch long and 2 inch wide spear point blade. The handle is of carved hardwood attached to the blade with two rivets and appears to have previously had a wrapping around the grip portion that is now absent. The carving features a bust of the man as the pommel. Stickers attached to the knife state that it is a dag knife from 1790 to the 1820s and formerly of the Jim Dresslar collection.
