Smith & Wesson No. 3 Third Model Russian Revolver with Mexican Eagle Carved Grip

Manufactured from 1874 to 1878. The barrel rib legend ends with "RUSSIAN MODEL." The cylinder, barrel and barrel latch are unnumbered. The left side of the grip panel features a relief carved Mexican eagle.

ConditionVery fine. The barrel and frame retain 90% original blue finish and the cylinder retains original blue finish in the flutes with the balance a smooth brown patina. Patterns of original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger guard. The grips are also very fine with a few typical hairline age lines, attractive color and grain and crisp carving. Mechanically excellent.
