Desirable Antique Etched Panel Colt Sheriff's Model 1877 Lightning Double Action Revolver with Pearl Grips

Manufactured in 1879. The sought after 3 1/2 inch ejectorless barrel features the etched caliber panel on the left side and the stamped two-line Hartford address on top. The frame has the standard three-line patent dates. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Provenance: The John Fox Collection

ConditionVery fine, retaining 80% original nickel plating with flaking on the balance and a patch of pitting at the muzzle. The etched panel is clear. The grips are also very fine with some minor handling marks and highly attractive fiery colors. Mechanically excellent.
