The print has been colorized with water colors. The print is marked at the bottom in white ink "The Round-up at work, Sand Flats of Big Dry Montana, August 1900, Seven Wagons, 2000 Saddle Horses, 100 Riders, 50 Reps, Eight cuts in sight, 6000 cattle in the Round-up," followed by L.A. Huffman's Miles City copyright. The frame is hardwood and measures approximately 14 x 26 1/2 inches. Laton Alton Huffman (1854-1931) was among the few photographers to photograph the reality ranching life in Montana in the late 19th century and enlarged many of his earlier photographs later in his life.
