Exceptional Michael Dubber Master Wells Fargo Theme Engraved Colt Third Generation Single Action Army with Box

Manufactured in 2014. The revolver features a band of zig-zag engraving at the muzzle and a leafy band at the rear of the barrel with both bands extending onto the ejector rod housing with floral scroll and crosshatch and punch dot motifs and open panels for the barrel address and model marking. The floral scroll continues onto frame which also contains a relief stagecoach scene on either side and the patent marking and Rampant Colt in a string of pearls bordered panel. The beautifully engraved scene shows Dubber's high level of artistry as either side of the frame depicts the same scene, from the perspective of ahead and behind the Wells Fargo coach. The top of the backstrap displays a semi-relief cut Wells Fargo & Co. marked lock with more floral scroll running from either end. This revolver even features floral scroll on the sides of the trigger guard which flows uninterrupted into the frame, front sight, and hammer, as well as intertwining lines on the hammer and trigger guard leaving almost no room untouched. The engraving on the revolver is also ink filled creating a contrast to allow the engraving to further show off it's attractive timeless motifs. The bottom of the barrel is signed "M. W. Dubber 2016" in script for FEGA Master Engraver Michael Dubber. Includes original shipping box hand marked "SCREWLESS FRAME/ENGRAVED BY MIKE DUBBER/"STAGECOACH"". Provenance: The Don and Carol Wilkerson Collection

ConditionExcellent overall as embellished by Master Engraver Mike Dubber, retaining 99% plus nickel finish with limited handling marks, crisp engraving and grips with attractive color and grain, and some typical age lines on the butt. Mechanically excellent. Box is very fine. This is an attractive piece of firearms art depicting one of the greatest symbols of Old West Americana created by a true master of the engraving form, Michael Dubber.
