The accompanying factory letter states this Registered Magnum no. 3092 was shipped on October 27, 1937 and delivered to H&D Folsom Arms Co. of New York City with a 6 inch barrel, extremely rare Whitex front sight, wide notch rear sight to match, blue finish, and checkered walnut Magna grips. In the factory letter S&W historian Roy Jinks noted, "This is the first Registered Magnum I have ever lettered with the Whitex front sight." The revolver features the Whitex front sight and wide notch rear sight to match as listed in the factory letter. The Roper target grips were added after the revolver was shipped. This is one of only 839 Registered Magnums manufactured with a 6 inch barrel. The revolver has standard S&W markings with "REG. 3092" stamped on the inside of the frame and matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder, and ejector shroud.
