Likely manufactured in 1931, the first year of production. Blued Winchester Proof Steel barrels with a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, chokes marked "MOD"/"FULL", and chambers marked 2 3/4 inches with a single extractor. The blued action is unadorned and features a set of double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend and pistol grip stock with Winchester buttplate. This early gun is pictured on page 562 of George Madis' "The Winchester Book" and is mentioned by serial number.
