LEE" behind it with both markings in matted panels similar to the one around the front sight. The receiver and lockplate have been casehardened and display floral scroll engraving to match the barrel. The low arch breech block is marked "U.S./Model/1884". Rating Definition:

Very fine as upgraded and engraved by C. Lee, retaining 98% plus of the blue finish and vibrant case colors with limited handling marks, a few spots of light oxidation mostly on the breech as well as crisp engraving. The stock is very fine as well with a few minor handling marks, a short stress line coming off the rear of the lockplate, a tiny chip at the front lock screw eyelet, and crisp checkering. The breech block latch has a weak spring, otherwise mechanically fine.
