This unmarked rifle utilizes a horizontally oriented 12-shot turret and is fired using a double action bar hammer style action that rotates the turret as the trigger is pulled allowing for rapid fire. It likely dates to the 1830-1840s. The rifled barrel ha a tiny brass blade front sight and a rear sight with two folding leaves is fitted on top of the action at the rear. The rifle features a full-length forend, ramrod, and smooth buttstock with a brass buttplate. This is a very innovative design produced by an unknown gunsmith.
