World War II German Steyr "bnz.41" Code MP40 Submachine Gun, Class III/NFA C&R Fully Transferable Machine Gun, with Accessories

A refined and streamlined successor to the MP38, the MP40 made extensive use of metal stampings and synthetic materials to make a weapon robust enough to withstand the stress of war while being simple enough to manufacture to keep up with the demand. Nearly every armed branch and paramilitary organization in Germany made use of the MP40, and many also found their way into the hands of opposition forces such as the French Resistance and Poland's Home Army, making it one of the signature weapons of the war. Hooded blade front and two-leaf rear sights, with "MP40/bnz/41" stamped on the endcap, and "WaA623" stamps on multiple components, including the receiver tube. Matching numbers are present on multiple components, including the barrel, endcap, and bolt components. The trigger group is fitted with a set of dark brown cover and grip panels, as well as a steel under-folding stock. Included with the lot is a three-cell canvas and leather magazine pouch (right hand side model), extra magazine, and a loading tool.

ConditionVery good, proudly displaying its battle scars, 50% of the blue finish is present with significant oxidization and characteristic brown patina on the remainder, along with a patch of heavier pitting visible behind the ejector port (appears to be blood pitting) and mild handling marks overall. Some chips are absent from the bakelite panels indicative of a gun that was dropped in combat, along with mild scuffs and scratches. Flecks of what appears to be white paint are present on the rear of the receiver and grip assembly. The pouch shows a number of tears and areas of material loss. Absent front trigger guard screw. Mechanically fine. An attractive example of a World War II MP40 with unmistakable signs of battlefield usage, making it a desirable piece to the military collector!NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
